In 1962, Robert Zerull was hired as a sales representative for a growing garage door manufacturer known then as
Wayne Door. Having always sold
more
than one product at a time, he also began selling Allister garage door openers
and
Multi-Elmac radios. In late 1975, Robert was approached by
Allister to
find a location to stock garage door openers.
At the
time, Allister had enormous freight bills shipping 1 or 2 openers at a time to their
customers and they
wanted a
warehouse
stocked with openers. So, the Robert Zerull Company was created in March of 1976. But, Allister openers weren’t
the only
product
to be stocked in the Zerull Co. warehouse. It made perfect sense to stock Wayne Door's
wood
crafted
garage
doors,
both
residential and commercial. This
way, our customers could pick up everything they
needed and didn’t
have to pay the
enormous freight charges
and
they didn’t have to wait for delivery.
Today, we have
over 30,000 square feet
of storage space
and house product from over 10 different
distributors sitting on the same property where Robert
Zerull
began
it all over
30
years ago. We carry doors from Wayne-Dalton and C.H.I., where
our garage door line
spans the entire
gamut from steel
commercial to wood to rolling steal to the basic pan door. We stock Liftmaster openers
in
mass quantities
from 7’ openers
all
the way up to 16’ footers.
In 1999, we added a delivery service to better serve our
customers; we are
able
to
deliver
doors all
the way up to 26’ in length. We’ve grown from a one
man operation to a three generation family business and we
hope to
continue to grow with our customers, both new and old, and with the ever
changing
building industry.
